Allen E. Starke

FREDERICA - Allen E. Starke, Sr. passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2015 at Milford Hospital. Mr. Starke was born Jun. 5, 1931 in Glens Falls, New York to Paul Starke and Beatrice Johnson Starke. He served in the United States Air Force for 15 years during the Vietnam and Korean Wars. While stationed in Dover, he also worked at High Point in sales, and after the owners of High Point retired Allen took over the sales and renamed it New Look Homes. After retiring he enjoyed traveling, and spending time with his wife, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his older brother, Paul (Bud) Starke. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Dolores Raspatello Starke of Frederica; children, Allen Starke, Jr. and his wife Susan, John Starke and his wife Carol, Nancy Shields, Susan Starke, and Dee Jay Kingery. He is survived by one brother and his four sisters who all live in New York. He was blessed to enjoy time with his 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 12PM, Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may come for visitation one hour prior. Interment will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
