Alice Mae Bryant

League City, Texas - Alice Mae Bryant passed away peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2018 at home with her family at her side.
Alice was born in 1933 in Milford and was the daughter of William Joseph Martin Sr. and Beatrice Mae Scott.
She was a loving mother, Nanny, Granny-nan and friend who was devoted to her family and a myriad of friends during her life. After raising her children, Alice worked as a Deputy Sheriff at Kent County Levy Court for over eight years then as a Customer Service Representative at MBNA for five years and retired to spend time with her family and travel. She loved sitting on the sands of the Caribbean beaches and even snorkeled in shallow water. Alice loved to crochet intricate bedspreads for her children, their friends and many relatives. She was an avid gardener known for her green thumb. Alice had a very high energy level and was always ready to jump in and help whoever needed it. She supported many in their time of need and was a blessing to her family and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kenneth Bryant Sr.; and brother, William J. Martin Jr.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, daughters, Lisa Bryant, Jacqueline Barber-Burrows (Ben), Rebecca K. B. Libourel (Bert) and son, Roy Kenneth Bryant Jr. (Jenny); two brothers and their spouses, Raymond Scharff (Cathy) and Norman Scharff (Dee); three sisters and their spouses, Gloria Walsh and Mary Ann Curry (Bob), and Joyce Counts (Tom); grandchildren, Jonathan, Daniel, Roy, Benjamin, Nathan, Matthew, Noah, Julia, Nicholas and ten great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Services will be held 12 p.m., at the Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover, DE 19901 on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. A viewing will take place before hand, friends may call at 11 a.m. Burial will follow service at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 35 Rising Sun Road, Camden-Wyoming, DE 19934.
