Alice Madora 'Dora' Tudor, 87

DOVER - Alice Madora "Dora" Tudor, of Dover, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at home. She was 87. Mrs. Tudor was born Jan. 17, 1922, on a farm in Calvert County, Md., in a small town called Wallville. She was the daughter of Willis Atwood and Nettie Lorena Fowler. She had attended a one room school house and graduated from Prince Frederick High School in 1940 after graduating she moved to Baltimore. During World War II she worked at the Linen Thread Company manufacturing camouflage nets for the military. She married her husband in 1943 and in 1949 they moved to Dover. Mrs. Tudor worked in the office of the business her husband and she started, Tudor Electric, for thirty years retiring in 1984. Mrs. Tudor was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother, and her grandson, Robert Thomas Haney. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert Henry Tudor Sr. of Dover; son, Robert H. Tudor II and his wife Susie of Dover; daughter, Linda Shufelt and her husband Raplh of Dover; two brothers, Tom Fowler of Jewel, Md., and Bill Fowler of Friendship, Md.; sister, Frances Arminger of Edgewater, Md.; grandson, Aaron Haney; four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Haley, Kayla and Kasey; and two special friends, Eileen Haith and Karen Thomas. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, where friends may call two hours prior. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, 300 Biddle Avenue, Suite 205, Newark, DE 19702; or Wesley United Methodist Church, 209 S.
