FEDERALSBURG, Md. - The golden bells rang for Alice Hastings Hubbert of Federalsburg on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, in Easton, with her loving family by her side. She was 95.

Mrs. Hubbert was born on April 16, 1912, in the Atlanta area of Bridgeville, Del., daughter of the late William F. and Eleanor Hastings.

She graduated from Bridgeville High School.

Mrs. Hubbert was a farm wife and provided care for many ill family members for several years.

She enjoyed doing several types of needlework and writing poetry which played a large part in her life.

Mrs. Hubbert was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Federalsburg and served on several church committees including the Elizabeth Miller Circle.

She is survived by a son, James F. Hubbert Sr. and his wife, Nancy; a grandson, James F. Hubbert Jr. and his wife, Jennifer; a great-granddaughter, Jocelynn Rose Hubbert of Federalsburg; a brother, John R. Hastings of Bridgeville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Myers Hubbert May 15, 1986; a son, Wayne Lewis Hubbert May 26, 1994; and four sisters, Gertrude Hastings, Nettie Hastings, Ethel Nichols, and Nellie Williams.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Hillcrest Cemetery, Federalsburg with the Rev. Dale Evans and the Rev. Dan Walker officiating.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christ United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, c/o James Hubbert, 315 Maple Ave., Federalsburg, MD 21632.

Arrangements are by Williamson Funeral Home, 311 South Main Street, Federalsburg.
