Alice C. (Watts) Ray, 86
WARWICK, Md. - Alice C. (Watts) Ray of Warwick passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, July 20, 2007, with her family by her side. She was 86.
Born on Dec. 11, 1920, in Townsend, Del., she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Nora Jane (Everett) Watts.
Mrs. Ray grew up in Townsend, and after marrying, she and her husband moved to Warwick.
She worked for Leeds Travelwear in Clayton, Del., for 19 years. Following their closing, she became a caregiver to Peggy Shetzler.
Mrs. Ray enjoyed traveling to various yard sales and especially loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Lester Leroy Ray, in 1992; two sisters, Thelma Hands and Elizabeth Bachman; and four brothers, Edgar, Harry, Liston and Donald Watts.
She leaves to cherish many wonderful memories a daughter, Joan Ray of Warwick; a son, David Ray of Warwick; one sister, Barbara Lockerman of Middletown, Del.; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Benson and her husband Barry of Cecilton, and Eileen Burris of Warwick; one brother-in-law, Harry Akin and his wife Carolyn of Dover, Del.; one granddaughter, Carol Boulden of Elkton; and two special great-grandsons, Kenny Eames and Zachary Hauth.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where family and friends may call one hour prior to service. Mrs. Ray will be laid to rest beside her husband in Warwick Cemetery.
