LEWES - Alfred W. Allen of Lewes passed away Monday, July 23, 2007, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Lewes. He was 64.
Mr. Allen was born May 1, 1943, in Wilmington.
He was employed as a sheet metal worker in the sheet metal fabricating business.
Mr. Allen served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of American Legion Post 28, Oak Orchard.
He loved fishing and greatly enjoyed being with his fiancee and her family.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Allen is survived by four sons, one daughter, three grandchildren, two sisters and a brother, all of Delaware. He is also survived by his fiancee, Jean M. Techentine of Lewes, and her children and grandchildren, Diana Vansant and her husband Tony and their children Shane and Ashley Vansant, all of Townsend, Travis Techentine and his wife Jennifer and their children Leif, Wyatt and Trey, all of Newark, and Damien Techentine and his daughter Tessa, both of Lewes.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Legion Post 28, 31768 Legion Road, Millsboro, DE 19966.
