Alfred (Fred) Carmen DeSomma, 57
CLAYTON, Del. - Alfred (Fred) Carmen DeSomma passed away on October 8, 2021. Fred was born on March 22, 1964 at St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic, N.J.
Fred was a skilled carpenter and part of the local carpenter's union, a career that he took pride in and loved. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle, nephew, and friend. He was well known for his charisma, pranks, and fun-loving nature.
Fred is survived by his two daughters, Nicole Cabrera and Amanda Reedy; two sisters, Dawn Cirillo and Teri Alabran; brother, Damien DeSomma; brother-in-law, Victor Cirillo; nine grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents, Alfred Roland DeSomma and Charlotte Ossman.
Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021 from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. at Kenton United Methodist Church, 74 W Commerce St. Kenton, DE 19955, with a celebration of life to follow from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Bowers Beach Firehall, 3285 Main St Frederica, DE 19946.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Fred's name to A.B.A.T.E of Kent County, mailing address is 110 Galaxy Dr. Dover, DE 19901.
