Albert Douglas 'Al' Schoolfield, 57

CLAYTON - Albert "Al" Douglas Schoolfield of Clayton died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. He was 57.

Mr. Schoolfield was born April 1, 1949, at home in Worcester County, Md., son of Estella (Merrill) Schoolfield and the late William Henry Schoolfield Sr.

He was a graduate of Worcester County School.

Mr. Schoolfield was employed with Perdue Farms for about 10 years. Later he was self-employed for 12 years. He also did construction work with Ralph Cahall Construction and Eastern States Construction.

He enjoyed working with his hands on carpentry and masonry. He loved football and westerns.

Mr. Schoolfield was a member of Blanco Faith Community Church until his health declined. He was a training trustee and usher when needed.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his special companion, Jacqueline Troy; and two brothers, Strand Schoolfield and John Lee Schoolfield.

He is survived by his mother, Estella (Merrill) Schoolfield of Pocomoke City, Md.; a daughter, Krynthia Troy of Smyrna; a sister, Evelyn L. Waters of New Church, Va.; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Charles and Diane Schoolfield of Vineland, N.J., William Jr. and Florence Schoolfield of Pocomoke City and Roscoe Schoolfield of Pocomoke City; two grandsons, Ja-Quay and Bijere; an aunt, Carrie Schoolfield of Pocomoke City; three friends, Tate, Mr. Pinny and Bunny; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.

Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Burial will be in Blanco Faith Community Cemetery, Downes Chapel, near Kenton.
