DOVER - Albert Dennis Jones passed away Oct. 9, 2009, at State Street Assisted Living in Dover, 18 days short of his 85th birthday. Mr. Jones was born on Oct. 27, 1924, in Black Ridge, Va. He was a decorated Veteran who served in both the U.S. Army Air Corp and the U.S. Air Force for 28 years. He was active in the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign and was also involved in the Berlin Air Lift. Mr. Jones served in World War II, the Korean War, the Viet Nam War, and participated in the Philippine Liberation. After his military service, he worked 20 years at Dover Air Force Base for NAF running the temporary flight crew quarters. In the later part of his life, Mr. Jones lived to watch his grandsons play baseball. Mr. Jones is survived by his daughter, Betty and son-in-law Keith; two sons, Alan and his wife Cindy, and Richard and his wife Debbie; and four grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Alex, and Dustin. A service will be 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to State Street Assisted Living, 21 N. State St., Dover, DE 19901.
