HARRINGTON - Albert C. Price, died at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 19, 2012. He was born in Harrington to parents George C. and Pauline Price. He served in the Army Air Corp. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years. He also worked part-time at both the Harrington and Dover Racetracks for 50 years. He sold real-estate for Harrington ERA for 10 years and was a photographer for both the Harrington Journal and Harrington Fire Company over the years. Mr. Price loved his country and his community. He served his community as a City Council person; A lifetime Member of the Harrington Volunteer Fire Company; Served on the Lake Forest School Board, serving as its president at one point; A member of the American Legion, and a member of the 40 et 8; Harrington Moose Lodge, Harrington Lions Club; In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by one brother, Charles R. Price. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elma; one Son, Gary A. Price and his wife Stacy, of Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter, Jean P. Purnell and her husband Craig, of Fayetteville, Pa.; five grandchildren, Phillip R. Layton, Kelly N. Layton, Cory T. Price, Lauren K. Price, and Caitlin E. Price; one brother, Lyman Price of Tampa, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Carmen Price of Salisbury, Md. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2012, at the Harrington Fire Hall, where friends may call beginning at noon. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to, Delaware Hospice at 911 S. Dupont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901, or the Harrington Volunteer Fire Company, 20 Clark Street, Harrington. Arrangements by Price Funeral Home, Harrington.
