FELTON - Adolphine "Dot" Godwin, 89, of Felton died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013 at Milford Center, Milford, Del. She was born in Alden, Pa., the daughter of the late John Andrew Touchstone and Louisa F. Bogardus Touchstone. In earlier years, she was a homemaker and in the 60's she began working for Sears Store in Dover, in sales and as a cashier. She was a member of the Felton United Methodist Church. Mrs. Godwin was involved in various organizations in her community, The Felton Historical Society, where she hand painted ornaments every year for Christmas for a fund raiser. Dot was extremely artistic and gifted and enjoyed crafts, especially her award winning oil painting and charcoal drawings (winning awards at the State Fair). Mrs. Godwin was a member of the Felton Avon Club. In the 80's, she worked at the Johnny Cake Antique Shop. She also was an independent representative for Tupperware selling their products throughout the State. Prior to the death of her late husband, John O. Godwin, whom passed in Oct. 2002, they both traveled extensively throughout Canada, Europe and North America. Her sister Mary Green and brother in law, William "Biddy" Green preceded her in death. She is survived by her two sons, Jack Godwin and wife Kathleen Stern, of Dover, Mitchell Godwin of Newark; two nieces, Marilyn Alexander and husband David and Brenda Wooten and her husband Wallie. Also, two great nephews, Josh Wooten and Jonathan Alexander; a step-granddaughter, Amanda Beth Shahan. Funeral services will be Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main Street, Felton, DE., where friends may call from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. for a viewing. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Harrington Sr. Center. Interment will be at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, DE.
