Addie Mae Reed Meehan

MILFORD - Addie Mae Reed Meehan passed away peacefully at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018. Addie was born in Milford to the late Valvert Lyman Fox and Addie May (Browntow) Fox on Aug. 16, 1926. She attended Milford School and graduated June 1, 1945. She worked at Playtex in Dover for many years, and then moved to Wilmington. She also worked at Columbia Gas System, retiring with faithful service for the company.
Addie enjoyed traveling and being with family and friends. She was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Wilmington.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Jill Sapp for her devotion to Addie before she went into the Country Rest Home. They also would like to thank the nurses, aides, activity staff and Compassionate Care nurses for the special care they gave Addie while she was there.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018 at 1 p.m. A time of visitation will begin at 12 p.m. Interment will be at Milford Community Cemetery, Milford.
