LAUREL - Acie Turner Mankins Jr., age 88, of Laurel, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, in Genesis Elder Care Seaford. Born in Coalwood, W.Va. the son of the late Elizabeth Z. Collins and Acie T. Mankins, Sr., he was a Industrial Electrician for Perdue Inc. Salisbury, Md. retiring in 1985 after 17yrs. service. Mr. Mankins attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Laurel. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Steen Mankins; a son, Acie Lee Mankins and wife Michele of Lewes; a brother, Robert L. Mankins of Walnut Cove, N.C.; three grandchildren, Aimee and Brooke Mankins, and Amber Gallery. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Beasley, Ruth Biggers and Katherine Self. A graveside service will be 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Laurel, with Rev. Don Murray officiating.
