Aaron Rudy Lyles, 78
MILFORD - Aaron Rudy Lyles of Milford died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, in the Delaware Veterans Home, Milford. He was 78.
Mr. Lyles was born on Oct. 28, 1929, in Princeton, W.Va., son of the late John and Mattie (Huwitt) Lyles.
Mr. Lyles devoted 22 years of military service with the U.S. Air Force, serving during the time of the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War.
He retired in 1971 as a master sergeant and has ever since been a proud veteran.
Mr. Lyles was a 32nd Degree member of the Masonic Limestone Lodge 214 AF&AM of Limestone, Maine.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Theron Lyles, Randalson Lyles and Frank Lyles; three sisters, Marie Hollenbeck, Jacqueline Wootten and Nell Mae Kornahens; and a nephew, Samuel Frank.
He is survived by three nephews, Ronald F. Hollenbeck of Kennett Square, Pa., Kerry G. Hollenbeck of Elkton, Md., and Charles Loper Jr. of Frisco, Texas; and his great-nieces and -nephews, Elizabeth Hollenbeck, Lee Ann Hollenbeck, Kara Hollenbeck, Aaron Frank, Chelsea Glanden, and Adam Frank.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Milford Community Cemetery, North Walnut Street, Milford, where burial will follow.
Instead of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association of Delaware, 100 West 10th St., Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
