Several individuals affected by breast cancer were profiled on our pages throughout October. They told of their ups and downs, their treatment successes and their networks of support. How has breast cancer, or any variety of the illness, made a mark in your life? What can you share about being a survivor or caring for a patient?
- We live in Delaware. It’s not if, it’s what, cancer you get. — Earl White
- Bone marrow for me. Ridiculously tough on one’s body, making it life-changing. — Jon Walczak
- I was first diagnosed at 32 years old in 1996, with breast cancer. In 2012, it came back in my lungs. Then, my bones and liver. I have been living with Stage 4 cancer since then. I have to believe that God and modern medicine, along with a don’t-give-up attitude and my wonderful, loving family and friends, are why I am still here. — Shari Cannon
