Robbery attempt made at Felton Valero

Posted

FELTON — An attempted robbery at a Valero/Shore Stop location Tuesday is under investigation.

At approximately 8:50 a.m., an unknown suspect walked into the store at 8953 S. Dupont Highway with a shirt wrapped around his head, Delaware State Police said. The suspect approached the clerk from behind the counter, pointed a knife at her and told her to open the register, troopers said.

When the clerk did not comply, the suspect tried to take the entire register but was unable to do so, police added. He fled from the store and was last seen running south, away from the site.

The clerk was not harmed, and nothing was stolen from the establishment.

The suspect is described as a White male, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 210-250 pounds, troopers said.

Police ask anyone with information to contact Detective J. Sydnor at 302-698-8540, send a message via the state police Facebook page or call Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-847-3333.
