CAMDEN — A 17-year-old Caesar Rodney High student was arrested after two knives were found in his backpack Tuesday morning, Delaware State Police said.
According to authorities, at approximately 8:15 a.m., the School Resource Officer was notified by school staff that they discovered two kitchen knives following their search of the student’s backpack.
Police said the student was removed from the school and turned over to the custody of a parent.
No threats were made, and no students or staff were harmed, police said.
The student later turned himself in and was charged with two counts of carrying a concealed deadly weapon. Following arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 2 the student was released to a parent.
