Letter to the Editor: Should the U.S. be involved in Ukraine?

Posted

The news reports offer opinions from various politicians who want to stop funding aid to Ukraine. Here’s known history we tend to forget:

March 1938 — Adolf Hitler invaded Austria; the world watched.

March 1939 — He invaded Czechoslovakia; the world watched.

September 1939 — He invaded Poland; the world watched.

April/May 1940 — He invaded Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg; the world watched.

May 1940 — He invaded France; the world watched.

April 1941 — He invaded Greece and Yugoslavia; the world watched.

December 1941 — The United States entered the war. The United States lost approximately 400,00 lives in the European Theater of World War II.

February 2014 — Vladimir Putin invaded and annexed Crimea; the world watched.

February 2022 — He invaded Ukraine; the world watched.

Fortunately, the Ukrainian people were able to fight off the attempt to overrun and annex them. The world has since supplied aid to them, and they keep fighting and dying, while living in the hell of war. To date, America has lost some money.

Should we be involved?
