In response to Mr. Bill Clemens’ diatribe: What fact checking? (“Laying out some facts about Donald Trump”). What rules are you referring to that President Donald Trump is making up? How can he make up rules? Mr. Clemens sounds just like the far-left liberal he is. His statements are clear that he doesn’t care about due process for everyone, only those he likes.
Mr. Clemens, parsing words like “invasion” and “incursion” is simply a way of trying to justify the profound weakness of the current president on foreign policy. What Russia did was an incursion and invasion. Nothing has happened to Russia for its incursion or invasion of Ukraine. Joe Biden took a leadership role! What has he done except send support in dribs and drabs, often too late? What were the alternative strategies? What he should have done was provide Ukraine with the weapon systems it asked for right upfront.
Deficits. How about this?: The U.S. budget deficit hit $2.77 trillion in 2021, the second highest on record. Biden has been raising the debt, which is different than deficit, more and more each year. Biden’s claim that he reduced the deficit by $1 trillion has been fact checked and is a lie. The spending that has taken place has allowed inflation to hurt even liberals like Mr. Clemens. Gasoline is higher, as are eggs and milk. Wages have just barely begun to keep up with inflation. People can’t afford cars or homes because of the interest rates. Biden has done all that.
Tax cuts increase the health of the economy. Tax increases hurt all of us. Those whom Mr. Clemens calls “rich” are only taking advantage of the tax code that Congress enacted. If you want everyone to pay their fair share, reform the tax code. I certainly take advantage of whatever tax break is available. Why wouldn’t I? If the government had not raided the Social Security fund almost from inception, everyone would be getting their fair share of what they paid in.
Mr. Clemens, a liberal, like yourself, believes that due process only applies to the people you want it to and that laws only apply to those who toe the liberal line.
