HARRINGTON - Woodrow W. Chaney passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 at the Hospice Center, Milford. He was born to the late Chester L. and Frances M. Chaney. Mr. Chaney was a charter bus driver for his brothers company, Chaney Charters. In his spare time, he enjoyed cutting grass, going to thrift shops and yard sales, camping and spending time outdoors. He loved to spoil his grandson. Mr. Chaney lived a simple life. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody. He loved to joke around, so much so that you could not tell if he was serious or joking. He will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Chaney; brothers, George, Donald, and Charles "Popeye" Chaney; and sister, Margaret Dale. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Chaney of Harrington; son, Paul Chaney of Bakersfield, Calif.; daughter, Stacey Ferrell and husband Robert of Seaford; sister, Barbara Bailey of Crisfield, Md.; brother, Boyd Chaney of Harrington; grandchild, Colin Ferrell; many nieces and nephews; and his dogs, that would not leave his side, especially the last few days, Dasher and Patches. Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Milford Odd Fellows Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses. Arrangements are by the Melvin Funeral Home, visit our website at www.melvinfuneralhome.com for further information, leave a letter of condolence, or to send flowers.
