HARRINGTON — A 41-year-old Harrington woman was arrested on a misdemeanor offensive touching charge after an alleged incident at Shining Stars Academy on Feb. 24, authorities said.

Harrington Police alleged that Leona M. Miller was involved in a confrontation with the daycare’s former owner who was gathering some belongings at around 4 p.m.

No children witnessed the alleged incident, police said.

Harrington Police spokesman Capt. Earl K. Brode said the motive for what sparked the confrontation was unclear.

Police were called to the scene a woman had suffered a minor injury and refused medical treatment, authorities said.

The business is located in the Midway Shopping Center on U.S. 13.

Ms. Miller later turned herself in to Harrington Police and was arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 2 in Rehoboth Beach. She was then released on $500 pending a future court appearance.
