Winfield A. Ellwanger

BURRSVILLE - Winfield A. Ellwanger went to be with the Lord on July 12th. Winfield was born Oct. 11, 1931 to David and Lucinda Ellwanger in Burrsville, Del. Winfield cherished his family along with his wife, Grace of 60 years. Together they instilled strong family values and he enjoyed sharing his stories with the grandchildren. Winfield was a veteran of the U.S. Army and later retired from DuPont in 1990. Winfield and Grace enjoyed many years of retirement together. Spending their winters in Florida and camping in the summer. Winfield enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, crabbing, fishing and working in his yard. Winfield is preceded in death by a brother, Dawson Ellwanger. He is survived by his wife, Grace; two sons, Mike (Bonnie) Ellwanger of Greenwood; Mark (Dyrell) Ellwanger of Harrington and a daughter Terri (Mike) Hartzell of Bridgeville, Del. He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 16th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St. in Denton. Friends by call from 12 until 1 the day of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations go to Compass Regional Hospice 255 Comet Drive, Centreville, MD 21617.
