William R. Jester

WYOMING - William "Bill" R. Jester was born in on Sept. 17, 1926 to William E. and Bessie Jester. He passed away peacefully at his home near Wyoming, Del. on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012. Bill graduated from Harrington High School in 1943. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the South Pacific during WWII. He graduated from Washington College in Chestertown, Md. in 1950 and later earned his MBA from Drexel University in Philadelphia. Bill worked for the International Playtex Corporation from 1950 to 1986, retiring as Chief Financial Officer. He and his son, Michael then owned and managed United Sleep Products, a bedding manufacturing business located in Denver, Pa. His interests included golf and pool. Bill and his wife, Donna also enjoyed hiking, skiing and travel. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte; and brothers, Robert and Donald. Bill is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, Richard (Jacki), Clay (Ann), and Michael; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and Donna's three adult children. Family and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at the Presbyterian Church of Dover, 54 S. State Street. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Delaware Hospice or a charity of your choice. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
