English, 63 SMYRNA - William R. "Bill" English passed away at his home on Thursday, July 4, 2013. Mr. English was born June 13, 1950 in Donaldson, Pa., the son of Ruth Klinger English of Smyrna, Del., and the late Robert E. English. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Independence. Mr. English enjoyed working for the Park Service of the State of Delaware until 1982. He then opened and operated English's Auto Body Shop with his brother Don for the next 16 years. Bill also owned an Antique Shop in Smyrna with his wife Diane. Most recently he worked with his brother Tom in the home construction field. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing with his wife, going to antique shops and refinishing old furniture. He will be missed by his family and many friends. He will be remembered for his easy going nature and selfless demeanor. In addition to his father, Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Diane. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Jason; daughter-in-law, Crystal; and granddaughter, Lantana; all of Little Elm, Texas. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Linda Foskey and her husband Rich of Dover, Craig English and his wife Sharon of Dover, Don English of Smyrna, Tom English of Smyrna, and Marsha Pope and her husband Terry of Atlanta, Ga.; and several extended family members. A gathering for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Burial will be privately held. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association Delaware Chapter, 240 N. James St., S-100A, Wilmington, DE 19804.
