MILFORD - William P. Jester passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford. William was born in Milford, son of the late Edward C. and Elizabeth (Harvey) Jester. He was a Security Guard at SCI, in Georgetown, for 18 years, retiring in 1979. William was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a past commander and member of American Legion Post #3, member and past vice commander of American Legion District #3, 40-8 member and member of Improved Order of Redmen. He was also a member of Calvary U.M. Church and SAKMAS. In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his wife, Delema (Banning) Jester; and a son, William P. Jester, Jr. He is survived by three children, Donna Lynn Davis and husband Ken, Donald Wayne Jester and wife Barbara and Ronnie Edward Jester and wife Kathy, all of Milford; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Vietta Banning of Georgetown and Nancy Burress of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, with visitation after 12 p.m. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery.
