REHOBOTH BEACH - William E. Nickle, formerly of Willingboro, N.J., and last residing in Rehoboth Beach, passed away suddenly of complications relating to degenerative heart disease on Wednesday, July 25, 2007. He was 66.
Mr. Nickle was born Nov. 28, 1940.
He graduated from The Haverford School, Pa., in 1958, and from Duke University, N.C., in 1962.
In college, Mr. Nickle was an accomplished dancer and choreographer in charge of nearly all major theatrical productions during his stay at Duke.
He worked at Arthur Anderson for many years, but the onset of numerous major medical problems left him all but incapacitated.
Mr. Nickle turned his pain and misfortune into an uncanny ability to help others and gathered a legion of friends over the years.
An active participant as a Big Brother to HIV-AIDS victims, he was well-respected and loved by many in his communities both in New Jersey and Delaware.
Mr. Nickle is survived by a brother, David and his three sons, Eric, Dylan and Brian; a brother, Norman and his daughter, Merisa; his companion, Sean Quigley; numerous close friends; his adopted family, David and Helen Rogers, and their son, Eric Django and daughters, Cinnamon, Ariel and Adeline.
An informal memorial get-together is scheduled at his former residence in Willingboro, N.J., on Aug. 19, 2007, from 2-4 p.m.
