FELTON - William E. "Bill" Hammond III passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Bill was born in Harrington, Del. the son of the late William E. and Nettie (Smith) Hammond II. He worked for the State of Delaware Highway Department for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Antique Tractor Association. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed making brooms and canes, and raising honey bees. He also loved to cut grass. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Lilly Hammond, his second wife Betty Hammond and his three brothers. He is survived by his step-children, step grandchildren, sisters-in-law and a special close friend Cynthia B. Hammond. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 at the McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce Street, Harrington, DE where a viewing will be held from 11 am to 1 p.m. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Milford - Harrington Highway, Harrington. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963
