Davidson, Sr., 83 WESTMINSTER, Md. - William Henry Davidson, Sr., 83, of Westminster died Friday, September 27, 2013 at Gilchrist Hospice in Columbia. Born August 13, 1930 in Eccles, W.Va., he was the son of the late Horrace Liton Davidson and Nanny Nancy Jane Simpson Davidson. Three times married, he was the husband of Mabel Caldwell Davidson, who died in 2001, Pauline Kreworuka Davidson Burton, who died in 2006, and Virginia Raymond Davidson Minton, who died in 2005. He entered the Air Force in 1951 as a Construction Equipment Operator in Korea, Japan, and Formosa/Taiwan until his discharge in 1958. After the service, he worked at Dover AFB where his job was to refuel aircraft and later as a bus driver for Dawson Bus Lines until he retired in 2006, when he moved to Maryland. While in Dover, Del., he was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion, and VFW. He enjoyed welding and camping. He was predeceased by his daughter, Diana Carrington; his stepson, Gerald Caldwell; and his siblings, Beulah Caldwell, James and John Davidson. Surviving are his children, William H. Davidson, Jr. and wife Laurie of Greer, S.C., Bessie "Buffey" Mencner of Hilliard, Fla.; his stepdaughter, Stephanie Pendyck of Harrisburg, Pa.; his nephew, Douglas Martin and wife Sandy of Manchester; his grandchildren, Steven, Meredith, Shannah, Duane, Robert, and Angela; his great grandchildren, Kyle, Lillian, Callie, Jacob, Steven, Timothy, Wyatt, Amber, Robert, Gabriel, Patrick, and Megan; his great great grandchildren, Harmony, Charity, JJ, Kasen, and Josh; and numerous great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2013 at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester. Interment will be 1 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2013 in Sharon Hills Cemetery, Dover, Del. with Military Honors.
