GREENWOOD - William C. 'Bill' Emory, Jr., of Marigold Lane, Greenwood, passed away Thurs., Jan. 13, 2010, at Delaware Hospice, Milford. Mr. Emory was born in Milford, the son of Alice Ingram Emory and the late William C. Emory, Sr. He worked as a stone mason "Artist" for Delmarva Natural Stone for 25 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran during the Vietnam War serving on the USS John R. Craig (DD- 885) and the USS George K. McKenzie (DD - 836). After the Navy he worked as a merchant seaman for Sun Oil. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. He was an avid model train railroader. His family held many open houses with friends coming from Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania to marvel his train collection . He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jackye Lynam Emory; his mother, Alice Ingram Emory; his children, Krista King and her husband Steven, and Amy Emory; sisters, Sharon Parsons, of Va. and Donna Merchant of Milford; brothers, Michael Emory and Scott Emory; and in addition to his children, he is survived by his four legged sons, Sox and Karma . Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m on Tues., Jan. 18, 2011, in the chapel of Calvery United Methodist Church S. E. Front Street, Milford, where friends may call one hour earlier. Interment will be at the Milford Community Cemetery. The Reverend Paul Isaacs will be officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Tunnell Cancer Center, Rt 24, Rehoboth, DE. Arrangements handled by Berry-Short Funeral Home. Milford.
