DOVER - William A. Tieman passed away Friday May 9, 2014 at the Milford Hospice Center. He was 83. Mr. Tieman was born Oct. 30, 1930 in Dover to the late Henry Tieman and Margaret Dawes Tieman. He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1951 to 1955. Mr. Tieman was part owner of H.W. Tieman and Sons. He was a member of the Wyoming Methodist Church and Union Lodge #7 AF & AM. He was an avid Delaware Indian artifact collector, and bottle hunter. Mr. Tieman enjoyed wood working, and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James "Jamie" Tieman, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Bradley Tieman of Dover; daughter, Terri Chippie and her husband Joe, of Dover; brother, Henry Tieman of Magnolia; grandchildren, Alison Horst and her husband John, of Skippack, Pa. and Aimee Plews and her husband Ryan, of Smyrna; great grandchildren, Lorelei, Ahren and Chase. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, May 12, 2014 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901 or First State Animal Center and SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
