MILFORD - Willard John Irwin, of Milford, passed away on Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was 80. He was the son of the late Thomas and Louisa Estep Irwin. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force, after 20 years, serving from 1951 to 1971. He was a self-employed lawn mower repair shop owner, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Calvary U.M. Church in Milford, a Lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Milford and a member of the Mason Dixon Falcon Club. He loved working on cars and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all his siblings, with the exception of one. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Selma C. Reynolds Irwin; children, Vicki L. Mulholland and her husband Ralph and Willard J. Irwin Jr., both of Milford; a brother, Paul A. Irwin of El Paso, Texas; three grandchildren, Jonathan Mulholland, Jason Mulholland and Timothy Lee Young and his wife Angel; and two great-grandchildren, Timothy Lee Young, Jr. and Samantha Young. A memorial service will be 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford. Burial will be private at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
