DOVER – As usual, Wesley College’s football team had to wait until the bracket was unveiled to know for sure that it made the NCAA Division III playoff field.
But, also as usual, the Wolverines saw their name come up on the screen Sunday evening.
Wesley (9-1) will make its 11th straight NCAA appearance and 12th overall when it hosts Framingham (Mass.) State on Saturday at noon.
The Wolverines have won 10 straight opening-round games.
With a chance to earn its first automatic playoff bid two weeks ago, Wesley lost the New Jersey Athletic Conference title when it fell to Salisbury, 38-35. That makes this is the 11th year in a row that the Wolverines have received an at-large bid.
The winner of the Wesley-Framingham game faces the winner of the matchup between Johns Hopkins and Western New England.
