CHESWOLD - Wayne (Lippy) Carrow, of Cheswold, formerly of Smyrna-Clayton, passed away at his home on Wednesday Jan. 13, 2016. He was born October 14, 1946 in Wilmington, the son of the late James W. and Agnes Carrow. He was a graduate of Smyrna High and had attended DTCC – Terry Campus, Dover. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and attained the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class, ICM Technician. During his time in service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device. He retired from Chrysler in Newark Del. Wayne was a Past Commander of David C. Harrison Post 14, Smyrna American Legion, and had served as a coach for Pop Warner football and the Smyrna Little League. Wayne will be remembered for his heart-of-gold and for being the life of the party. He is survived by a son, Chris Carrow and his wife Erin; three grandchildren, Molly Ann, CJ, and Charlie; his siblings, Larry Carrow and his wife Barb; Pam Seeley and her husband Mike; Randy Carrow and his wife Sheri; and Jeff Carrow; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 20 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., where friends may call Tuesday evening from 7-9:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will be at the DE Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
