Wayne Allan Adams

SEAFORD - Wayne Allan Adams, passed away on Mon. Sept. 17, 2012, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 11, 1941 in Concord, Del., the son of the late Avery O. and Iva B. Adams. Wayne was a 1959 graduate of Seaford Senior High School. After graduation he and his father purchased Adams Oil Company and several months later his brother Marvin joined the family business. He was a successful businessman with a kind and caring heart. He was dedicated to his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His interest in woodworking started Adams' Country Crafts, which turned into a family business and provided a wonderful opportunity to spend together. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church in Concord, Del. He is survived by his wife, Ann Cook Adams; his daughter, Lisa Adams Williamson and husband Greg, of Seaford; his son, Glen Allan Adams and wife Kathi, of Seaford; stepdaughter, Lori VanZandt and husband Terri, of Fla; stepson, Rich Kellett of Colo; sisters, Janet C. Maas and Delores E. Lloyd of Seaford; brother, Raymond J. Hitch of Seaford; four grandchildren, Kristin Williamson, Corey Williamson, Derek Adams and Logan Adams; one step-grandson, Kyle VanZandt; one great-granddaughter, Karley Williamson; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Faye S. Adams; and his brothers, Robert A. Adams and Marvin E. Adams. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 22, 2012, in St. John's United Methodist Church, Pine and Poplar Streets, Seaford, where friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Sat. from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford. Rev. Diane Melson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Concord United Methodist Church, 25322 Church Road, Concord, DE 19973. Arrangements by Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Seaford, DE.
