DOVER - Watson "Duke" Clough passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 at Kent General Hospital. Mr. Clough was born June 26, 1934 in Dover to the late Frank B. Clough, Sr. and Viola Crist Clough. He was raised by his late Uncle and Aunt Robert and Frances McGinnis, on a farm and farmed until 1968 when he went to work for Globe Union/Johnson Controls. He worked as an equipment operator for Globe Union/Johnson Controls for 30 years retiring in 1995. Mr. Clough enjoyed westerns especially John Wayne, watching NASCAR, especially Earnhardt's Sr. and Jr. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed wood carving. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Yearsly; brothers-in-laws, Charles "Pete" Gourley and George T. Burd. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Gourley Clough of Dover; son, Garry Wayne Clough and his wife Karen of Sudlersville, Md.; daughters, Mary Jo and Carol Sue Clough both of Dover; brother, Frank "Mickey" Clough, Jr. of Dover; sister, Jean Slera of Slaughter Beach; sister-in-law, Shirley Burd of Dover; grandchildren, Zachary David, Jacob Wayne, Emily Sue and Ashley Nicole Clough; great-granddaughter, Paisley Marie DeMoss; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening. Interment will be in Templeville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
