Mitchell, 61 MILFORD - Wanda Elizabeth Mitchell departed from this world to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. After a long and brave battle with Alzheimers. Wanda was born on May 7, 1951. She was the fourth of six children to the late Dorsey 'Doc' Mitchell and Pearl Boyce Mitchell of Seaford. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughters, Tammy Elizabeth Carter of Harrington and Heather Lee Rust and husband Scott of Greenwood; seven grandchildren, Katlyn Elizabeth Carter, Michael Gregory Carter, Ryalli Nicole Rust, Lauren Christina Carter, Dyllan Scott Rust, Kylla LeeAnn Rust and Brynllee Payton Rust; a sister Doris Ann Roberts and her husband Phil of Seaford; four brothers, Dorsey Wayne Mitchell of Seaford, Preston Daniel Mitchell and his wife Nancy of Laurel, Gary Lee Mitchell and his wife Cindy of Laurel and Charles Edwin Mitchell of Seaford; four nieces; nine nephews; and her longtime friend Michael Lee Parsons of Houston; several great nieces; nephews; and many special friends all whom she loved dearly also survive her. A celebration of her life will be held at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home 700 West St. Laurel, DE 19956 on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 2 p.m, were a viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. A viewing will also be held on Monday evening March 11, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm. Pastor Bobby Aycoth will officiate. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would recommend donations to the research and treatment of Alzheimers Disease. Alzheimer's Association Delaware Chapter 2306 Kirkwood Highway Wilmington, DE 19805.
