Walter George Knotts

KENTON - Walter George "Dicky" Knotts of Kenton, Del., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 10, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Walter was born Nov. 3, 1944 to the late William and Pearl Knotts. He was a member of Kenton United Methodist Church and also a member of the Kenton Ruritan Club. He was a great husband and a wonderful father. He loved his family more than anything. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his younger brother, Don Knotts; and his son-in-law, Timothy Caudill. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Avis Knotts; 3 daughters, Sally (Knotts) Last and her husband Dale, Brenda (Knotts) McKinnon and her husband Jeff, and Joy (Knotts) Horsey and her husband Ryan; grandchildren, Tanis Last, Diamond Last, Jennifer Caudill, Riley Horsey, Ramsey Horsey, and Samantha Horsey; and a brother, William Knotts, Jr. and his wife Bobbi. The family would like to thank John Lahaniatis and his staff and to all of their new friends from Delaware Hospice. A viewing will be held on Thursday, May, 16, 2013 from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will be held in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kenton United Methodist Church, PO Box 188, Kenton, DE 19955, or to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.
