MILFORD - W. Nelson Hall passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Nelson was born on Nov. 5, 1919 in Milton, son of the late Edmund and Edna (Green) Hall. Mr. Hall was a respected businessman and farmer most of his life. He owned and operated Hall's Service Center in Harrington from 1953 to 1961, turned some of his land investments into successful developments, and managed the daily operation of his farms until his retirement in 1986. He was also involved in his local community. Nelson was the oldest living member of the Milford Rotary Club, a member of the Masonic Temple Lodge No 9 A.F.&A.M. in Milford, a former member of the Board of Trustees of Wilmington Trust Company, and a devoted member of the Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Isaacs Hall in 2008 and a sister, Emma Craft. He is survived by two sons, Dr. Gregory D. Hall of Rockland, Del, and Dr. Stephen K. Hall and his wife, Patricia of Fair Oaks, Cali.; four grandchildren, Christopher Hall, Katie Hall, Jennifer Ryan, and Julia Munoz; and a great-granddaughter, Cora Louise Ryan. Services were held on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 at the Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church St, Milford. Burial followed the services in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church St, Milford, DE, 19963.
