The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control will join the Christina Conservancy and the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary in April to mobilize volunteers for the annual Christina River Watershed Cleanup.
As part of Earth Month, the event will be held from 8-11 a.m. April 22 at 12 sites in New Castle County. Volunteers are encouraged to register through April 20 at volunteer.christinarivercleanup.org.
Attendees will receive gloves, trash bags and safety vests, plus a reusable tote bag or a 30th-anniversary T-shirt, while supplies last. Registered volunteers are asked to document findings at christinarivercleanup.org, or they may use provided cards.
For a chance to win a Delaware State Parks annual pass, participants should share cleanup photos on @ChristinaCleanup, #ChristinaRiverCleanup or @CRWCleanup. Each photo post counts as one entry.
More information can be found at christinarivercleanup.org or by emailing christinarivercleanup@gmail.com.
