JOHNSTON, Iowa - Virginia Slusark of Johnston, Iowa formerly of Smyrna, passed away peacefully with family at her side on February 19, 2014 at Wesley Acres in Des Moines. She was 91. She is survived by her husband, Stan, the love of her life. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Art and his wife, Nell of Johnston and their children, Kate (Patrick) Kiely of New York City, Jane of Des Moines and Mike of Chicago; and her son Frank, his wife Karen, and their children, Brian and Matt, all of Lake Hopatcong, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Bishop Drumm Chapel, 5815 Winwood Drive, Johnston, Iowa. Burial will be private at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, Iowa on March 3, 2014. Expressions of remembrance can be made in Virginia's memory to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Polycarp's Church, 135 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, Delaware 19977.
