SEAFORD - Virgil J. Joseph, Sr. died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013. He was born Feb. 3, 1952 in Seaford, a son of the late Arthur Joseph and Joyce Davis Joseph. Virgil started his career as a carpenter with Nanticoke Homes in Bridgeville, where he worked many years. He then went to work for Dresser Pump for a number of years before spending the past 10-12 years with Fluor Daniels. He shared his love of hot rods and hunting with his sons. He was a loving, caring grandfather who enjoyed having fun with his grandchildren. Virgil will be remembered as a man who loved to find a bargain, searching yard sales and flea markets for a great deal. He will be greatly missed by his family, his carpooling buddies and his flea market friends. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Helen Massey Joseph; a daughter, Amy Joseph of Seaford; two sons, Virgil "Jamie" Joseph, Jr. (Cristi), of Bridgeville and Jeremy James Joseph (Mariha), of Seaford; seven grandchildren, Amber, Tyler, Dustin, Kelsie, Austin, Lucas and Arizona; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Terry L. Joseph (Connie), of Seaford; and a sister, Mollie McCabe (Joe), of Blades; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at the Laurel Church of the Nazarene, 100 Walnut Avenue, Laurel, where family and friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Pastor Ralph Fraser will officiate.
