Virgie Ida Alexander, 90

SMYRNA - Virgie Ida Alexander, of Smyrna, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 90.

Mrs. Alexander was born Dec. 20, 1917, in Kenton, the daughter of the late Ralph and Elva Teat Lane.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Alexander; and a son, William Ralph Alexander.

She is survived by two sons, Norman Alexander of Clayton, and James Alexander of Kenton; seven daughters, Brandy "Marie" Fearn of North Fort Myers, Fla., Elizabeth Kelly of Jacksonville, Fla., Margaret Alexander and Jane Clark, both of Smyrna, Lee Alexander, Laura Hindt and Sue Arment-Greigg, all of Clayton; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior.

Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Arrangements by Faries Funeral Directors, Inc., 29 South Main Street, Smyrna.
