Virgie I. Wheeler, 82
MAGNOLIA - Virgie I. Wheeler of Magnolia died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 82.
She was born July 19, 1925, in Ridgely, Md., daughter of the late Willie Carter and Mary Virginia Thomas.
Virgie attended school at Caroline County High School.
She moved to Kent County after the birth of her daughter, Dorene.
Virgie was preceded in death by a son, Clarence Wheeler; and a daughter, Mary Ellen Mundy.
She is survived by three daughters, Dorene Hoxter, Constance Wheeler and Shirlyn Wheeler; one son, Dwayne Wheeler; two granddaughters, Tinisha Wheeler and Cheryl Wheeler, both of Dover; five grandsons, Cullen, Corlett, Jerome D., Garrett and Dae Mont Wheeler; many great-grandchildren to cherish, most especially her great-grandson, Stephen Wheeler, whom she raised; and a great-granddaughter she also raised, Tyquana Curtis of Dover.
Virgie was cared for at home by her daughter, Dorene, under the care of Delaware Hospice, who enjoyed the many visits with her at the end of her life. She made everyone feel at home in her house.
Services will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Minus Funeral Home, 222 N. Quest St., Dover.
Interment will follow services in Sharon Hill Park, Dover.
