Vincent “Jim” DeLeo, of Dover, died May 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and two daughters. Jim lived with a zest for life defined by generosity, service, healing, and humor. Born October 29, 1945 and raised in the Philadelphia area, Jim graduated from Wilmington High School. He earned a B.S. from University of Delaware and an Advanced Certificate in Physical Therapy from University of Pennsylvania.

Jim served in the United States Army, retiring as a Captain in the Army Medical Specialist Corps. Jim was chief physical therapist at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill (Smyrna), Cortland Manor (Dover), and Dickenson Medical Group (Milford) before opening his private practice, Physical Therapy Services, Inc. alongside partners Philip Barkins and Gary Nowell. Jim was known for his empathy, compassion, and sometimes unconventional humor, helping make the difficult work of healing a little easier.

Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanie; two daughters, Wendy DeLeo LeBorgne (husband Ed) and Alison DeLeo; two grandsons, Quinn LeBorgne and Vaughn LeBorgne.

Visitation: Tuesday, May 26th 5-7pm and Wednesday May 27th 11-12noon; Celebration of Life at 12:00noon at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover. In lieu of flowers, contributions can made to the University of Delaware Physical Therapy Program or a charity of your designation.
