ELLIOTT ISLAND - Vesta Lucille Peddicord, 77, died Sunday, July 8, 2007, at Mallard Bay Care Center, Cambridge, where she had been a resident for three years.

She was the wife of the late Herbert Clifton Peddicord, who died on Aug. 22, 1993.

Surviving are eight children, Denia Jane Newman of Laurel, Scott A. Hamilton of Indiana, Lucille Curry of Jessup, Rose Marie Tomer of Indiana, Timothy James Peddicord of Cambridge, John Clifton Peddicord of Elliott Island, Edwin Wesley Peddicord of Elliott Island; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a brother, Everett McIntire of Ellicott City; a family close friend, Michele Dawn Gunter of Elliott Island; and Mrs. Peddicord"s companion, Harry Harding Jr. of Elliottt Island.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were her first husband, W. Scott Hamilton; a son, Herbert Neal Peddicord; and and grandson, Timothy James Peddicord II.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Island United Methodist Church, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Peddicord Cemetery.
