MILLSBORO - Valerie W. Swindal, formerly of Poway, Calif., passed away peacefully on Jan. 8, 2013 at the Milford Center, in Milford, Del. Born on Sept. 24, 1919, in Millsboro, she was the daughter of the late Walter B. and Anna Davies Wright. Mrs. Wright was a Roman Catholic, a native American Nanticoke, and worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at Scripps Hospital. She lived for forty years at Poway, California. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernice Samuel Swindal, who died in 1964. She is survived by two brothers, Curtis Wright, and Douglas Wright. A viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966. Graveside Service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Karen Mumford officiating. Interment is at Indian Mission United Methodist Church Cemetery, Harbeson, DE.
