Vaccine clinics scheduled at four Delaware schools

Posted

DOVER — The Delaware Division of Public Health and the Department of Education have announced four COVID-19 vaccination clinics at schools throughout the state, all scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 19, from 4 to 8 p.m.

The four sites are Lake Forest Central Elementary School, Seaford Middle School, William Penn High School and Howard High School of Technology.

All sites will offer the Pfizer vaccine — the only vaccine approved for individuals age 12 and older. Children under 18 must provide parental or guardian consent.

The clinics are open to the public and walk-ins are welcome, although registration is preferred. Registration is online for each clinic: the Lake Forest clinic, the Seaford event, William Penn and Howard.

Second-dose events will take place Thursday, Sept. 9. Albertsons pharmacy will be the vaccinator for both the first- and second-dose events.

“All available COVID-19 vaccines provide a high level of protection and are extremely safe in all populations,” the DPH and DOE said in a prepared statement.
