WILMINGTON — David C. Weiss, U.S. attorney for the District of Delaware, announced Wednesday that his office will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks with a blue-light tribute.
The salute, a news release from the office stated, will honor the fallen and the first responders and military members who continue to answer the call to duty.
According to the release, Mr. Weiss is asking businesses and building owners throughout Delaware to join the effort by placing battery-operated, blue tealights in their windows, beginning Sept. 10.
Building owners also may participate by replacing white outdoor lightbulbs with blue ones.
