UD names Dennis Assanis president

NEWARK -- The University of Delaware has named Stony Brook University provost and senior vice president of academic affairs Dennis Assanis president.
The university's board of trustees unanimously approved him Wednesday afternoon in a special meeting. Former President Patrick Harker stepped down in June to become head of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.
