Two on Dover council vie for president

DOVER — Dover City Councilmen Fred Neil of the 3rd District and Roy Sudler Jr. of the 4th District have announced their intentions to seek the position of council president.

Current Council President William “Bill” Hare is not seeking reelection to the post.

There will be a special council meeting held virtually May 10 at 6 p.m. for Councilmen Neil and Sudler to answer questions from their fellow council members. Their announced intentions do not prohibit the nomination of other members of council. No voting will take place during that meeting.

The election of the council president will be held during the body’s annual meeting, also scheduled to be held virtually, May 10 at 7:30 p.m.
